The board supports up to 10 user selected communication channels, including ARINC-429/561/568/575/582, RS-232, RS-422, RS-422, and RS-485. Additional channels, supporting MIL-STD-1553, and High Speed 422 could be added with plug in piggyback adapter cards. The receiver mode allowed for storage of all or selected information. The on board high speed processor and true dual-port RAM offered a simple and powerful interface to the board. The board operates independently of the host computer, reducing the need for host intervention.
