The Board supported up to two dual redundant 1553 channels and was compatible with all common variations of MIL-STD-1553 (A, B, F-16, McAir). Each channel of the EXC-1553PC/Px could operate simultaneously as a Bus Controller and/ or up to 32 Remote Terminals or as a Triggerable Monitor. In addition, error injection (BC and RT modes) and error detection (all modes) were supported on each channel.
