The Board supported up to two dual redundant 1553 channels and is compatible with all common variations of MIL-STD-1553 (A, B, F-16, McAir). Each channel of the EXC-1553P104/Px can operate simultaneously as a Bus Controller and/or up to 32 Remote Terminals, or as a Triggerable Monitor. The card supported error injection and error detection.
The EXC-1553P104/Px was supplied with C drivers, including source code, and Merlin+ Windows software.
