EXC-4000VME/xx, EXC-4000VXI/xx cards & M4KCAN module
The EXC-4000VME/xx and EXC-4000VXI/xx cards for VME & VXI systems supports up to forty eight CAN Bus channels using the M4KCAN module. Each channel contains 256 bytes of dual-port RAM for data blocks and control registers. All data blocks and control registers are memory mapped, and may be accessed in real time. The CAN protocol uses a multi-master (contention based) bus configuration for the transfer of “communication objects” between nodes of the network. This multi-master bus is also referred to as CSMA/CR or Carrier Sense, Multiple Access, with Collision Resolution. The M4KCAN performs all serial communication functions such as transmission and reception of messages, message filtering, transmit search, and interrupt search with minimal interaction from the user. The M4KCAN supports the standard and extended message frames in CAN Specification 2.0 part B. It has the capability to transmit, receive, and perform message filtering on extended message frames with a 29-bit Message Identifier.
Due to the backwardly compatible nature of CAN Specification 2.0B, the M4KCAN also fully supports the standard message frames with an 11-bit Message Identifier as in CAN Specification 2.0 part A.
The EXC-4000VME/xx, EXC-4000VXI/xx are supplied with C drivers, including source code. Mating connector provided for I/O connections.

"xx” specifies the modules ordered with the carrier board.
"-E" added to the end of the part number specifies extended temperature (-40° to +85°C) option.
"-001" added to the end of the part number specifies conformal coating option.
