Excalibur Software Tools are fully compatible with Windows Vista. However, a difficulty may arise when running the ExcConfig utility due to Microsoft's new User Account Control feature. This feature requires you to specifically request administrative privileges whenever necessary. Administrative privileges are required to run the ExcConfig utility due to registry modifications made by the utility.

Therefore, you can no longer run ExcConfig by double-clicking on its icon, nor can you run ExcConfig by choosing it from the Start menu. Attempting either of these options will result in an error message. Instead, right-click on the icon (or menu item) and choose Run as administrator.
